About Ribble Valley Homes

Ribble Valley Homes was set up specifically to take transfer of Ribble Valley Borough Council’s housing stock. With a stock of less than 1200 tenants, officers and members realized that transfer to a stand alone organization was not a viable option but all parties were keen that Ribble Valley Homes should be autonomous and retain its identity.

Following an intense selection process that included 2 written submissions, a study visit, Open Day and Best and Final Offer stage Vicinity Housing Group were the unanimous choice of the partner selection steering group which included representatives from all the key stakeholders. 

The final decision took into account the financial stability and expertise of the organization but more importantly all of the steering group came to the conclusion that we would feel comfortable working with the key people in the group. The steering group also found that whilst working in completely different geographical locations and social environments our priorities and values in relation to delivering a good social housing service were very similar.
